Small "Hongqi H9": The new Hongqi H5 will be pre-sold, with new hybrid and 2.0T versions

Recently, according to media reports, the new Hongqi H5 is likely to be officially launched in May.

Regarding the new Hongqi H5, information about the new car has already appeared on the Internet as early as March this year. Compared with the current model, the new Hongqi H5 adopts a family design language similar to the Hongqi H9 in appearance design. The huge air inlet net and the straight waterfall air inlet grille look very imposing.

The headlights of the new car are designed in a split style. If you only look at them from the front, it is difficult to tell whether they are a Red Flag H9 or a Red Flag H5.

The body of the Hongqi H5 is very slender, and there is a sharp waist line running through the whole body, which also adds some power to the whole car. The taillights use the same through-type design style as the Hongqi H9, and even sharper than the taillights of the Hongqi H9. The exhaust layout still uses a double-sided design.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4988/1875/1470mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2920mm. The body length of nearly 5 meters makes the new Hongqi H5 longer than the standard axle version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series, and the wheelbase is also 45mm longer than the current Hongqi H5.

In terms of interior design, the new Hongqi H5 neither uses the design style of the current model nor the interior design of the Hongqi H9. Instead, it adopts a design style that is relatively close to that of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The center console has a strong large-screen central control, and it is also equipped with a full LCD instrument panel.

In terms of power, the new Hongqi H5 will no longer use the 1.8T turbocharged engine on the current model, and the 1.5T engine will be retained.

In addition, there are also new 1.5T hybrid and 2.0T versions.

Among them, the 1.5T version is equipped with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, with a maximum power of 124 kW and a maximum torque of 258 Nm.

The 2.0T version will be equipped with an 8-speed manual transmission with a maximum power of 165 kW and a maximum torque of 340 Nm.

The new car is likely to be officially launched in June, and the starting price of the entry-level model should be around 150,000 yuan.
