Obviously, Lantu needs to break through the current product matrix and increase sales through the addition of new products.
Now Lantu has launched a new pure electric SUV model, the product name is "Friend", and its benchmark product is Tesla, the current pure electric SUV sales champion.
According to Lan Tu, the name of the new SUV is from the allusion of "high mountains and flowing water meet confidants", and Lan Tu wants to be confidants with users, so he chose this all-Chinese name. And the appearance is the same as its name, with obvious "Chinese elements", which also gives Lan Tu a new idea of the whole design concept.
Compared with the design of the first three models, which were too old-fashioned, the new car could be said to have a new look. First, the Lantu bosom friend cancelled a large number of chrome-plated designs, and secondly, it adopted a more electric appearance design, which no longer looked like an old fuel car.
In fact, Lan Tu designed two sets of front faces for her friend this time. One was a relatively traditional closed front face, and the other was said to be a limited edition interstellar front face design, including a black concave trim, a star group, a ring LED daytime running light, and so on.
However, what we actually shot this time is the ordinary version of the front face design, which is mainly a fully enclosed front face of the same color as the body, and the dividing line is a relatively round hexagon. This set of designs mainly focuses on the design of the lamp group of Kunpeng’s wings, including the through-type daytime running lights, which also have a set of twill trims.
The strange thing was that Landscape’s bosom friend used a split headlight design. Although the upper lamp group was not small in size, it did not put all the lamp group systems together. There was also a headlight group design in the traditional fog lamp area.
In fact, the design concept of Landmap’s soulmate this time is called "Force Flight", which is the hovering aircraft in science fiction movies. Therefore, Landmap’s soulmate has a lot of conceptual design details of the aircraft, such as the hollow air intake design of the front cabin cover, which is called the concept of "double-channel air intake of the aircraft", which can guide the flow from the front trim, reduce the wind resistance and increase the driving stability of the body. This design has appeared on Polaris 3 before, but considering that Landmap’s soulmate will be listed in China soon, it is the first product in China to adopt this design.
There are muscular lines on the side of the car, the side skirt retains the Z-shaped design elements on the chasing light by stamping, and there is also a beautiful shoulder line design. Another interesting design is that the D-pillar has a wingtip winglet design, which makes the whole car look more dynamic. In addition, the end of the front lip of the bumper also has a similar treatment, the side skirt also has a luggage rack, which is also from the concept of the aircraft, which also strengthens the integrity of the design concept of the Landmap bosom friend.
The tail design is that the upper layer is a sports rear wing, and the middle is the Lantu family-style arrow feather-shaped through-type tail light, but the luminous light group is OLED, and 66 divisions are also made, so there can be continuous jumping lighting effects in the exhibition car mode. In addition, the bottom is designed with a diffuser style, which is ordinary in shape. Of course, the material of the trim plate is still very delicate.
As the youngest model of Landu, the confidant is also a smaller product. This car is positioned as a pure electric medium-sized SUV, with body sizes of 4725, 1900, 1636/1653mm and a wheelbase of 2900mm. This size is actually very friendly for young consumers in first- and second-tier cities. After all, the 532-size medium and large SUV is too huge to drive. In addition, this time it comes standard with 20-inch wheels, and the shooting car adopts a low wind resistance shape.
The interior design of Lantu’s confidant is still a strong Tesla Model Y design style, including the flat front IP table design, the elimination of the traditional instrument panel, and the floating central control screen. But Lantu’s dissatisfaction with the Model Y has also been adjusted accordingly in the confidant. It retains a bar-shaped display screen to ensure that the driver can see simple information. At the same time, it also adds a large-size AR-HUD, which can serve as a replacement for traditional LCD meters like the ideal L series.
Lan Tu’s bosom friend made some micro-innovations to the already cookie-cutter central control floating screen, which instead became the biggest highlight of the bosom friend’s interior. The advantages of OLED materials are needless to say, mainly higher contrast, more beautiful colors, and already quite high resolution. It’s just that every company is using OLED screens now, and the difference in screen materials alone is not necessarily a selling point.
The screen size is 15.05 inches, which is a little larger than most screens, and the extra 0.05 inches is basically brought by the curved surface on both sides of the screen. The first advantage of the curved screen is that it can achieve the visual effect of narrow borders, and with the dark UI interface, it can almost realize the visual effect of hiding the black edge. The second is that Landscape has designed two exclusive gesture functions for the position of the curved surface, one is volume adjustment and the other is screen brightness adjustment, which is equivalent to replacing two physical buttons.
In addition, the central control screen also has a function of "slipping", which can move from the middle to the passenger seat. Although this function is not pioneered by Lan Tu’s confidant, the speed and noise of the entire screen movement are better than competing products.
Previously, many media and consumers thought that the sliding screen did not have much practical significance. This time, Lantu also made some innovations in the co-pilot to solve the problem of sliding screen usage. This solution was very interesting, which was to add a hidden small table board for the co-pilot.
This hidden small table board can pop up through voice or drop-down menus. It is not large in size, but the usage scenarios will be richer. For example, when the screen moves to the passenger seat, this is a small table board that extends out. You can put meals, have lunch and watch a movie in the passenger seat. At the same time, it can also become a makeup area for female car owners and a place to put cosmetics. Of course, the entire design does not explain how to solve the problem of driving safety.
This time, in order to adapt to the intelligent needs of young consumers, the car system has also been changed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, and the entire computing power has been greatly improved. To this end, Lantu Zhiyin specially designed a new version of the system, and the entire UI interaction is closer to the new forces, especially the two systems of Huawei Hongmeng and Meizu Flyme Auto, and the refinement and fluency of the entire interface are excellent. It can be said that Lantu, as an independent new energy vehicle company backed by traditional central enterprises, can also reach the level of the top new forces in terms of software experience, and there is no big gap in experience.
In terms of space, Lantu’s confidant fits the needs of young families it is targeting very well. In the front row space, because there is a very flat front IP desk design, even if the sitting position is relatively low, you can have a good field of vision. According to my height of 174cm, there is almost room for one punch and four fingers after sitting upright, which is more reasonable. What is worth mentioning in the front row is that the height of its door armrest and the center armrest is the same, which makes it more comfortable to sit when driving, not to say that the left hand will be higher.
Due to the wheelbase reaching 2900mm, Landu’s bosom friend can basically have two punches and four fingers in the rear legroom, which is much wider than the competitor Tesla Model Y. And the rear head space is also more sufficient than the front row, reaching about two punches. The reason is that Landu’s bosom friend does not use a panoramic canopy, and the top of the rear row is still a traditional iron sheet, which can be designed with a concave design. In addition, the H-point of the rear seats is relatively low, and the head space in the rear row is more spacious than the front row.
What needs to be added is that although the H-point of the rear seat of Lan Tu’s bosom friend is relatively low and the thighs are more suspended, because the front seat has been lifted a bit, the feet of the rear passengers can extend under the front seat. In addition, the rear seat cushions are obviously lengthened, so you can find a better support.
In addition, the softness of the front and rear seats is also significantly different. The support of the front seats is obviously better than that of the rear seats. The riding experience of the rear seats is a bit too soft, and even the rear seat cushions will feel trapped when sitting down.
Another point is that, as an SUV product for a young family of three, Lantu Zhiyin attaches great importance to the creation of storage space – the standard trunk space is 527L, and there is 72L of hidden space under the cover, and the loading space after the second row of seats can reach 1328L. In other words, Lantu Zhiyin can fully meet the loading needs of a family, and can also handle the occasional handling of large items.
